David Ford, My Darling Clementine, Chris Topham, Nige Tassell

Event Details

Word In Your Ear is the performance wing of the late acclaimed music magazine The Word and aims to knit together music and words in a way you won’t find anywhere else.

David triumphantly headlined one of our shows back in July of last year. This time he’s appearing at The Old Queen’s Head on Essex Road and he’ll be singing songs from his new album Charge, playing some of your favourite songs and talking to David Hepworth. This is one that Ford fans won’t want to miss.

He’ll be supported by My Darling Clementine, the acclaimed honky tonk group fronted by Michael Weston King and Lou Dalgleish which features the cream of Britain’s musicians including Martin Belmont and Geraint Watkins. They’ll also be performing their tribute to the late country legend George Jones.

Chris Topham flies jumbos for a living runs the vinyl label Plane Groovy for a hobby and is spinning the records at this installment of Word In Your Ear.

You can read more about him here.

Nige will be talking to David Hepworth about his new book Mr Gig, a funny, touching volume about his search for the soul of live music in the 21st century.
