WE’RE BACK! FOR A WORD IN THE PARK, A SUMMER AFTERNOON OF SOCIALLY DISTANCED STORYTELLING IN HOLLAND PARK!
We’ve had Word In Your Ear, we’ve had Word In Your Attic, and now it’s A Word In The Park!
We’re all going on a summer holiday, at least for a couple of hours, and we’d like you to be there in person with us.
That’s right. On the afternoon of Saturday, July 17th in London’s Holland Park and thanks to the kindness of Opera Holland Park, who are lending us their beautifully re-designed and socially-distanced covered auditorium, we’ll be talking rock and roll with old pals and friends of the pod, and we’d love you to join us.
The proceedings will be anchored as usual by David Hepworth and Mark Ellen and they’ll be joined by some of their favourite talkers who will come fully prepared to tell some of their favourite rock and roll stories, talk about and sign their books, and also to decide on the best summer record ever made which is, of course, a matter of great import. Names of guests will be announced in due course but rest assured they will not disappoint.
Since the auditorium has been re-configured to facilitate social distancing, seating is strictly limited and therefore if you would like to be there please book early. We are also offering a limited allocation of premium seating at tables nearest to the stage. There will be a COVID-safe bar service for your refreshment.
The auditorium is located in the beautiful setting of Holland Park, an easy walking distance from Kensington High Street, Holland Park, Shepherd’s Bush and Kensington Olympia tube stations.
This event promises to have a vibe all its own, combining the essence of our nights at the Islington with the unique magic of one of London’s loveliest parks on what we hope will be a sunny afternoon. An overdue opportunity to catch up with each other in person.
It’s been a long cold lonely winter, and we very much hope to see you there.
